What Is the ezLandlord Interface?

The ezLandlord interface is built to create an efficient workflow for self-managing landlords. It gives landlords centralized access to all the documents, forms, and resources needed throughout the rental lifecycle.

Whether you’re a new user or a logged-in customer, our interface makes it easy to navigate between:

The interface was created by landlords for landlords. Each step is designed to make it easy for landlords to access, customize, send, and store the documents they need.

How the ezLandlord Interface Helps Landlords Work Fast

Some of the key ways our landlord software improves landlord efficiency are:

  1. Storing key information for reuse. Landlords don’t have to re-enter tenant information or property information. Once it’s in our system, it’s stored and shared throughout the landlord software. For example, once you have tenant information from a screening, that information can be automatically populated into your lease agreement.
  2. Saving templates and customized forms. When you customize a notice, form, or letter in our system, you can save that template for future use.
  3. Enabling batch mailings. If you want to send a notice to all of your tenants, you can select batch mailings, and our system will create a customized document for all tenants and/or properties you select.
  4. Saving custom lease clauses or rules. Many landlords have unique language they add to their lease agreement. Once these terms are entered in the lease builder, they’re saved and can be added to future leases with just a few clicks.
  5. Streamlining the lease creation process. Building a lease is often one of the most time-consuming tasks for property managers. Our system utilizes user-friendly prompts that guide users through the lease creation process in minutes.
  6. Making lease renewal easy. Landlords get reminders when it’s time to renew a lease. And since all the information is already in our system, it just takes a few clicks to create a Lease Renewal Agreement.

Where to Find the Most Important Tools in the ezLandlord Interface

Most of our users start by sending a tenant screening request or creating a new lease. Both tools are accessible in the navigation bar at the top of the ezLandlordForms page.

To start a lease agreement as a new user, click on “Lease” in the navigation bar and select the state where your rental property is located. This will take you directly to our lease builder, where you follow step-by-step instructions to customize your lease package.

For users who are already logged into our system, their homepage will show all active leases and documents. It also has a “new lease” button on the top right, which takes users directly into our lease builder.

For users wanting to start a tenant screening request, simply select “Tenant Screening” from the navigation menu, and then select “Start Screening” and follow our step-by-step prompts.

Whether you’re looking for a lease, tenant screening, rent payments, or a specific form, you can access all of our tools from the top navigation bar. Simply click on the service you need, and we’ll guide you from there.

What New Users Should Explore First in the ezLandlord Interface

There’s no one “best” place to start in ezLandlordForms. Your starting point depends on what you need to accomplish. That said, here are a few ways new users often get started with our system:

  1. Adding all rental properties to your account
  2. Creating a  lease agreement
  3. Sending a screening request

Our suggestion for new users: start with the tool you’ll use the most, whether it’s our lease builder, tenant screening service, rent payments system, or forms library.

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Using the ezLandlord Interface

If you have any trouble with our system, our customer support team is always available to help. You can start a live chat or call with our team at any point.

Some of the most common mistakes we see from new users are:

  • Not using our autofill feature: When you customize a document and see the word “autofill” – for example, [Autofill: Property Address] – you don’t need to do anything. Our system will automatically fill in your personalized information.
  • Ignoring state assist tips: As you build your lease, our system gives you state assist tips. For example, security deposit regulations, late fee limits, or required disclosures. These help ensure landlords comply with all landlord-tenant laws, both during lease creation and while managing rental properties.
  • Adding tenant or property information more than once: If you’ve entered a tenant’s name or property address, it’s saved in our system. Whenever you need to use this personalized information, it will be available in a dropdown box.
  • Adding custom text without reviewing the lease: Our lease is detailed and thorough. Oftentimes, landlords will add custom text to their lease, only to find the language is already included in our lease template.
