Step 1: Set Up a Rent Payments Account

Follow user-friendly prompts to set up a Rent Payments account in minutes. Our system will ask you for some basic information like: 

• Rental unit address
• Rent amount
• Rent due date
• Lease term
• The name and email address of the payor (usually the Tenant)
• Required tax information for the Landlord

In addition to this basic information, Landlords have an option to include: 

• Security deposit information 
• Prorated rent amounts
• Any one-time fees

Step 2: Link a Bank Account for Rent Payments

The next step for Landlords is linking a bank account where rent payments will automatically be deposited every month. We’ve partnered with Plaid to ensure this process is seamless. 

Plaid is an industry leader that provides a safe, easy, and reliable way for Landlords to link their bank account to their Rent Payments account. Landlords simply follow prompts from Plaid to link their accounts. 

Step 3: Tenant Sets Up Rent Payments

Once Landlords have set up Rent Payments for a property, their Tenants will get an email inviting them to set up payments. When they do so, they’ll have the chance to set up monthly automatic payments. 

Once Tenants have set up their accounts, everything’s ready to go! Tenants will get automated emails letting them know when a rent payment is coming up, and they’ll get an email reminder if rent is ever late. 

Now, all Landlords and Tenants do is sit back and watch the system do its job.
